Lime & Corksol – Tenbury Road, Bromyard

Back to our work

This stunning period stone building, located on the outskirts of Bromyard in Herefordshire, was facing a range of issues, including damp, cold walls, and unsightly rendered surfaces. The property required a careful and sympathetic restoration to resolve these problems while preserving its historic charm.

We began by stripping all the existing render back to the original brickwork to address the root cause of the damp and ensure a solid foundation for the restoration. A new traditional lime render was then applied, enhancing the building’s breathability and providing an additional layer of insulation, ideal for older properties.

To complete the transformation, we coated the rendered walls with Corksol, a decorative and insulating solution that perfectly complements period properties. The customer selected a stunning colour, adding a modern yet sympathetic touch to the building’s character.

The result is a beautifully restored property with improved thermal performance, eliminated damp issues, and a visually striking appearance. This project demonstrates how combining traditional techniques with modern materials can achieve a balance of functionality and aesthetic appeal, ensuring the property retains its timeless elegance while benefiting from contemporary upgrades.
