We were approached by a customer in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham, who had thoroughly researched using Corksol as a decorative insulating coating for her older property. Corksol was the perfect choice due to its breathable properties, which ensure compatibility with heritage buildings without causing damage, while also adding a modern touch.
Our work began by preparing the walls with a breathable lime render base coat, carefully applied to create a smooth, flat surface. This base coat is essential for older properties, allowing the walls to retain their ability to breathe and preventing moisture build-up. Once the base was ready, we applied several coats of coloured Corksol, which not only provided the desired aesthetic but also enhanced the building’s thermal insulation.
The combination of traditional materials with modern technology resulted in a stunning finish. The property now benefits from improved energy efficiency while maintaining its historic integrity. The customer was delighted with the outcome, and the photos speak for themselves—showcasing a harmonious blend of beauty and functionality. This project highlights the versatility of Corksol and its suitability for older properties seeking both insulation and a decorative upgrade.
